Ginsburg, Souter, Stevens, and Breyer were the 4
baby-hating U.S. Supreme Court "justices" dissenting
from the upholding of the federal ban on partial-birth
infanticide. Kennedy was the swing vote that has
finally ended the barbaric killing method.
There have been no partial-birth infanticides reported
in recent years in Kansas. George Tiller favors a
high-risk late-term abortion method of injecting the
baby's heart with poison and inducing labor to deliver
a dead baby (digoxin/induction). Other late-term
babies are mangled, dismembered, or beheaded inside
the womb.
Kansas House Speaker Melvin Neufeld (email
mneufeld@ink.org , phone 785-296-2302 or 620-335-5316)
has until Friday to move out the resolution to compel
AG Morrison to charge George Tiller with his crimes of
illegal post-viable abortions, else he might as well
resign from the speaker post in favor of someone with
a spine, I.M.H.O.
We will have justice, one way or another.

Two senators tied up the Missouri Senate for hours Tuesday to block a
wide-ranging pro-life bill restricting abortion. Baby-hating Democrat
Senators Jolie Justus and Joan Bray said the bill would put women in danger,
water down sex education in schools and do nothing to reduce unwanted
pregnancies. The legislation eventually was set aside without its supporters
speaking on its behalf (??!!).
Justus, a Kansas City Democrat, said the bill would lead to more women
undergoing dangerous, illegal abortions and lead to more crisis births in
which young mothers abandon their newborns in trash bins. [In reality, it is
legalized abortion that cheapens and degrades human dignity.]
The bill, she said, would force all but one abortion mill in Missouri to
close. And the bill creates an absurd program that provides counseling to
women with unintended pregnancies but bans any discussion of birth control
to help those women avoid future pregnancies, Justus said.
Senate Bill 370 would have required that abortion mills committing more than
five abortions a month meet the safety standards required of ambulatory
surgical centers, would have promoted alternatives to abortion, and provided
various assistances up to a year after birth for crisis pregnancies.
What are Missouri pro-lifers doing about this travesty against their
carefully crafted pro-life legislation? Where is their declaration of war
against these 2 Democrats?

U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) will be offering two RU-486 amendments to a
bill related to the FDA. The first amendment would suspend the availability
of any drug approved under FDA's subpart H category that has resulted in
more deaths than lives saved. (RU-486 has killed 6 mothers in the USofA, but
saved no lives.) The second would lift the liability protection that
currently shields mifepristone, one of the two drugs in the RU-486 abortion
process, so that women (and their families) who are injured, harmed or
killed as a result of use of this drug can seek damages.
Baby-hating Democrats on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions

Knee osteoarthritis affects 30 million people
worldwide, causing pain and joint stiffness and in
severe cases restricted mobility. The limited ability
of this tissue to repair itself means that surgical
intervention is usually required and over 600,000
surgical procedures are performed each year in the
USofA. One of the most successful new adult stem cell
therapies is cell transplantation, which involves
removing a patient's own mature cartilage cells
(chondrocytes) and growing them in vitro using tissue
culture techniques. Once the cells have multiplied the
patient must then undergo a second surgical procedure
for implanting them into the knee. The implanted
chondrocytes will then help to produce healthy
cartilage.
Meanwhile, useless, unethical embryonic stem cell
research still cures nothing, nor will it.

In Britain, one in 30 babies aborted for medical
reasons is born alive, a study looking at babies with
disabilities has found.
They lived for an average of 80 minutes - although in
some cases babies survived for over six hours. Most of
the babies were born between 20 and 24 weeks of
pregnancy, but some had been in the womb for as little
as 17 weeks. Abortion is legal in the UK for any
reason up to 24 weeks, after that only to protect the
mother's life or if the baby is severely disabled. 3%
of aborted disabled babies were born alive and then
died, because of drug-induced miscarriage.
Brits are recommending, as a precaution, that after 22
weeks, the point of viability, that the baby be
executed by lethal injection prior to inducing a
miscarriage (quack George Tiller's favored late-term
method).
One baby born 3 years ago at 24 weeks after 3 botched
abortions is still alive.
If most British abortions are committed on healthy
babies, not addressed in this study, then how many in
total are live-birth abortions? One shudders to think.

[from the Daily Dose]
Moos and views you can ewes
I told you this Island of Dr. Moreau stuff was coming, didn't I?
First, an article in the BBC news announced back in November that scientists
from Newcastle University and Kings College London have applied to the UK's
Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority for a 3-year license to conduct
some human genetic experiments...
Their goal: To produce human/cow hybrids.
That's right, these folks want to bring to life the Minotaur out of Greek
mythology. Only, thankfully, they don't want to nurture it to adulthood -
only to the days-old embryonic stage, for stem cells that can be used in
human medicine.
Just last month, I wrote to you for the very first time about stem cells. In
my 2-part series (Daily Dose, 3/6 and 3/9/2007), I brought you up to speed
on the various types of stem cells, a few of their pending potential
applications, and I touched on some of the ethical and legal quagmires that
surround the technology...
Well, despite the "creep factor" in making hybrids of humans and bovines,
there seems to be a very worthwhile justification for the scientists'
application. You see, the best and most medically applicable types of stem
cells come from human embryos - a politically charged source, indeed.
Generally, it would take large numbers of either aborted fetuses or cloned
embryos to generate enough stem cells to be of any real clinical use. Both
of these sources push the envelope of what's medically and morally ethical.
Besides this, to produce these embryos by cloning also requires a huge
number of human eggs - not the easiest thing to come by, believe it or not.
However, these UK scientists have found a way to strip a cow's egg of its
genetic material, then insert human DNA into it at the proper stage, and
voila!
The end result, in theory, would be large numbers of embryos that are human
enough in origin for their stem cells to be therapeutically valuable, yet
that couldn't grow up into human beings - and that haven't been aborted from
anyone's belly or derived from healthy eggs that any young woman has sold
off for pub money...
In my view, this is a better solution than some of the alternatives, if it
works. At the very least, the experiments will teach us worlds more than we
now know about the boundaries of chromosomal compatibility between species -
something that a lot of people bent on human genetic enhancement are
wondering about. But these Minotaur embryos aren't even the weirdest or
creepiest news on the real-life "Dr. Moreau" front.
. . .
Think the cow/human embryo plans from the UK are weird? A group of American
scientists have left this far in the rear-view mirror on "Creep-o" street...
They've bred a herd of sheep that are roughly 15% HUMAN.
Though the animals look like ordinary sheep, their internal organs - namely,
their hearts, lungs, and livers - are genetically more than half human. A
team of scientists from the University of Nevada has pioneered the research
over the last 7 years. Their objective is to produce vital organs (like
in-demand livers) that are human enough to be viable for transplants on a
mass scale.
They accomplish this feat by injecting stem cells extracted from an
individual patient's bone marrow into a sheep fetus at precisely the right
time, and in precisely the right way. The result is either an individual or
multiple lambs born with organs that are not just significantly human, but
whose human component is genetically identical to the donor...
Hopefully, this will translate into high viability, and more lives saved in
the future among those who'll need organ transplants in the future. Many who
need livers, for instance, die after months or years on a waiting list -
ample time to grow an entire herd of replacement organs.
Pretty encouraging, isn't it? I mean, once you get over the "yuck" factor.
But I haven't told you the creepiest part yet...
The Nevada scientists can do this with sheep BRAINS, too.
Always bullish, never sheepish about science we can ewes,
. . . William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

Tuesday night, beaten to death and stuffed in a garbage
bag among some boxes behind a clothes washer in the
house where Randy Lopez-Rivas, 18, an illegal
immigrant from Guatemala, was living with the child's
mother, though he is not the biological father. Police
issued a warrant charging him with murder, after he
left town on a bus.

Forty years ago today, Colorado became the focal point
of the nation's abortion debate when Gov. John Love
signed the nation's first bill widening the access to
legal abortion, and the USofA entered into a 40-year
wilderness of decline in human dignity.
In 1966, just one therapeutic abortion was performed
at Denver General Hospital under the old law, which
allowed abortion only to save a woman's life or
prevent serious bodily injury. That same year, 27
women were admitted to the hospital because of botched
abortion attempts, and 208 girls ages 12 to 19 gave
birth there.
[The Rocky Mountain News is repeating the abortion
lobby's old, disproven lie that 10,000 women per year
died from botched abortions before abortion was
legalized, a story fabricated by abortionist quacks.
The CDC reported 39 deaths from criminal abortions in
1972. After 1973, women died by dozens every year from
legalized butchery in unsafe abortion mills - just
like today. Watch for more lies about illegal
abortions, as abolition looms closer.]

The Kansas House Thursday added additional reporting requirements on
abortionist quacks and abortion mills to the budget bill (HB 2542). The
House provisions require the Department of Health and Environment to revise
its forms to gather additional information about the condition of a woman
and a physician's diagnosis that a late-term abortion is necessary, in case
the abortionist quack does not have justification for a post-viable
abortion, as is often suspected. The Department of Social and Rehabilitation
Services would be required to disclose any information from caseworkers that
evidence of a crime against a minor had occurred and report it to law
enforcement, in case the abortionist quack is refusing to report statutory
rape, as is often suspected. The Board of Healing Arts would have to certify
that there aren't any legal or financial ties between the abortionist quack
and a referring physician, as is often suspected.
[Right in your eye, Tiller.]

The Oklahoma state Senate fell just one vote short of
having enough votes to override a veto by Gov. Brad
Henry of a bill that would cut taxpayer funding for
abortions. The override failed because Sen. Charles
Laster, a baby-hating Democrat from Shawnee, OK (email
laster@oksenate.gov ) changed his vote.
Of particular concern, now Medicaid-funded quacks in
Oklahoma will continue encouraging parents of unborn
children diagnosed with Down Syndrome to hire the
killing of their disabled children using taxpayer
funds. Some babies are being killed because of false
positives in the test for Down Syndrome.

Speaking of the uninsured, some universities, like
Yale, will pay for as many abortions as a woman
student demands from student health insurance, but
won't pay for labor and delivery.

15 years of pioneering work have produced a new
portable fetal heart monitor, which could help save
at-risk unborn babies, by alerting medical
professionals early when intervention in a pregnancy
becomes necessary. Clinical trials should be completed
this July. Perhaps 10% of pregnancies are high risk.

America's abortion lobby is accused of promoting the
legalization of first-trimester infanticide in Mexico,
including taxpayer funded abortions, outraging the
nation's Catholic population, in order to make cheap
Mexican abortions available to Americans when
abolition is brought back to the USofA. According to
HLI, the pro-abortion group GIRE alone received more
than $5 million from 1999 to 2004 to try to overturn
Mexico's laws protecting unborn children and Planned
Parenthood's affiliate MexFam received $3.4 million
from 2002-2004.
